Eastbridge on TV - Britain's Most Historic Towns

Eastbridge features in a new series of this popular programme on Channel 4. Professor Alice Roberts is back on the road exploring key periods in British history through the stories of individual towns and cities.

Episode 5 will be screened on Saturday 15th June at 8 pm when Alice visits Canterbury to tell the story of Plantagenet England, from the secrets of the city’s iconic cathedral to the horror of the Black Death. The Eastbridge, or The Hospital of St Thomas the Martyr at Eastbridge, as it was then known, was an important place during this period providing hospitality and shelter to the many pilgrims who came to visit the tomb of Archbishop Thomas Becket who was murdered in the Cathedral in 1170.
